Introduction

In this chapter we run the Serre spectral sequence in two extended computations: the cohomology of the special unitary group $SU(n)\text{,}$ and the cohomology of the loop space $\Omega S^n\text{.}$ The latter computation will play a crucial role in the stable-stem computations of the next two chapters.
